UPDATE - MAYO. Al parecer ahora los terceros comenzaron a remover algunos juegos de la store de Xbox 360 varios meses después de su anuncio original. Juegos como Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare y Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Microsoft ha anunciado mediante la página de soporte de xbox.com que decenas de juegos y complementos dejarán de estar a la venta mediante el marketplace de Xbox 360 a partir de la semana que viene.
"Se eliminarán de Marketplace de Xbox 360 una serie de títulos de videojuegos y sus complementos asociados en un conjunto selecto de regiones por título. Estas eliminaciones comenzarán el 7 de febrero de 2023", dice el comunicado. "Una vez comprados, siempre puedes volver a descargar estos videojuegos o cualquier otro videojuego comprado anteriormente en tu Historial de descargas de Xbox 360". Recordemos que tanto Xbox One o Series serán capaces de reproducir cualquier contenido retrocompatible sin problemas.
UPDATE: “A partir del 7 de febrero de 2023, un conjunto limitado de juegos, complementos y contenido del juego ya no se podrá comprar en mercados seleccionados a través de la Tienda Xbox 360”, dijo un portavoz de Microsoft a Gematsu. “Estos títulos ya no se podrán comprar solo en la Tienda Xbox 360, y los títulos que están disponibles para comprar en las Tiendas Xbox One y Xbox Series X|S seguirán siendo vendidos.”
En algunos casos como Assassin's Creed III, el juego forma parte de un especial de ofertas de Ubisoft por al menos dos semanas, así que deberíamos estar atentos hasta después del 13 de febrero. También tengan en cuenta que no todos los juegos se encuentran disponibles en las mismas regiones o se pueden comprar mediante cualquier Xbox. Por ejemplo: Left 4 Dead solo se puede adquirir mediante Xbox 360 o el marketplace de tu región, y en cambio Blue Dragon se puede comprar tranquilamente desde tu Xbox Series, Xbox One o X360 sin problemas.

No esta claro cual es el motivo, pero seguramente tiene que ver con las licencias de las empresas. Como pueden ver, hay una enorme variedad de juegos que incluso hoy en día no se pueden conseguir fácilmente. Muchos de estos, o casi todos, son retrocompatibles en Xbox One y Xbox Series por igual.
